IPMS Hawaii Battleship Row is a chartered chapter of the International Plastic Modeler’s Society, a worldwide organization devoted to the enjoyment and promotion of the model building hobby. Our membership is made up of a surprisingly diverse group of people, from beginners to professional modelers. Our focus is on having fun building model kits and sharing our collective knowledge to help others get the most out of the hobby. We have several public displays every year, allowing members to show off their creations, and plan trips to the annual National Convention as well as to other places like Japan! We meet once a month at 6:00 pm on the last Saturday (except December) at the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument, a.k.a. the USS Arizona Memorial Visitor Center. Maybe you built models as a kid a long time ago, or you are curious to see what model building is about – if so, please come and check us out! |

Aloha, and welcome to the new IPMS Hawaii Website. January 2012 News It is a new year and a new administration. Elections were held during the November 2011 meeting to elect club officers for the next four years. Brad Sekigawa has been elected president, Phillip ”PJ” Permejo is vice president, and Burl Burlingame is editor. John Palimo’o remains as treasurer, and Lance Masunaga is as always the website administrator. The first meeting of the year will be 6:00 pm on Saturday, January 28, in the education room at the WW II Valor in the Pacific National Monument. (Same place, same time as usual.) This year, it was decided that there will be no model theme nights, and the focus will attempt to shift from “show and tell” to demonstrations and hands-on builds. Details will be worked out in the coming months. The upcoming spring gun show in March will also be non-themed, so it will be “bring what you brung.” As a reminder, annual dues are $20, so please check in with John Palimo’o at the meeting. Children under 16 and their parents are free. There is no charge for visitors who just want to check us out. The club roster will be updated, so for those of you who are national IPMS members, please bring your card so that your ID number and expiration date are current. This information is necessary to maintain our charter with the national organization. |
